Rachael J Anderson is a lawyer focused on immigration, citizenship and refugee law located in Edmonton, Alberta. Rachael is a member of The Law Society of Alberta and active with the local Canadian Bar Association (CBA) Immigration Section.
Rachael has successfully helped many clients resolve their immigration matters, including applications and appeals for families, businesses and refugees. She has represented clients before all of the major immigration tribunals, including Immigration Appeal Division (IAD) and Refugee Protection Division (RPD).
Prior to starting her own firm, Rachael worked for two years with a well known immigration lawyer, Ahlam J Balazs. Rachael achieved her J.D. from the University of Alberta. During law school, she was involved in volunteer positions with a number of agencies providing legal services to low income and underrepresented groups. Rachael received her bar call in 2013.
Rachael’s strong roots in social justice are evident in her Social Work background. Prior to legal studies, she achieved a social work diploma and worked in front line social services with individuals fleeing abuse and the homeless. A global citizen at heart, Rachael also received a B.A. with distinction majoring in East Asian Studies and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
